  • We achieved a significant accomplishment by completing the Applying Professional Scrum (APS) course.
  • This hands-on course provided us with practical Scrum training by engaging in team-based exercises, case studies, and real scenarios.
  • APS proved to be an effective avenue for acquiring practical experience by completing a full Sprint.

Nexus Sprint 1

Goal: Develop a webpage that is accessible from the AFP Homepage.

  •  Utilized transparency to develop effective communication methods across a diverse group of strangers.
  • Successfully created a Product Backlog and Nexus Sprint Backlog.
  • Demonstrated prioritization skills in managing the backlog.
  • Showed courage in addressing disagreements and fostering respect among team members to facilitate effective conflict resolution.

Nexus Sprint 2

Goal: Publish webpage to the development site and refine its appearance for improved user experience.

  • Practiced adaptability by incorporating feedback from Nexus Sprint 1 Review/Retrospective to enhance future Sprints. Refined the backlog based on the feedback received.
  • Refined the backlog based on the feedback received.
  • Ensured adherence to Nexus Daily Scrums for improved coordination.
  • Conducted thorough Nexus Sprint Reviews to evaluate progress.
  • Gathered valuable feedback from stakeholders.
  • Maintained focus on the end goal by leveraging feedback from stakeholders and the team during Nexus Sprint Reviews and Retrospectives.

  • Highlighted cohort success stories and skillset through social media presence.
  • Showed commitment to Agile for Patriots’ Mission by reducing job insecurity for program graduates.

Fourteen Veterans, Active Duty, and National Guard members, as well as three Military Spouses, have successfully graduated from the Agile for Patriots Program as part of the Cohort 9 PhoenIX team.
